Creating Two New Novels. Writing One Chapter Weekly. Podcasting As I Go. Welcome to The Experiment.
Turns out, there wasn’t a glitch at all. My specs were all correct from the embedded artwork to the bpm. (Don’t I sound like I know what I’m talking about? ^.^) So, what was the “problem”? I sent the wrong file. *blush*
Here’s my part of my acceptance letter:
That passes the requirements, Jane.
If you already have all of your episodes complete, excellent. Dive right in. If you’re still working on them, keep these instructions handy but don’t act until you’ve got them all complete. As of January 2012, we’re only making books live once all the episodes are available.
Wait, did you catch that? “As of January 2012, we’re only making books live once all the episodes are available.”
I promise, that was not in the guide I read. That new rule does not mesh well with my, “write one chapter weekly and podcast”, plan of attack. But! No worries! There is ALWAYS a work-around. “Where’s there a will, there’s a way!” We’ll simply upload the podcasts here on the blog. I’ve upgrade my WordPress account to allow mp3’s and already tested Ch. 1 of Enough for Four. It’s all ready to go and will be automatically published on Monday, June 18 at 11:00 am when the count down to the right strikes zero!
Plus, all of the effort to match their requirements wasn’t a totally lost. I now know that I am making my podcasts exactly how Podiobooks.com requires them. Which means when we finish this little journey of ours, I’ll have all of the files of the completed novel to send over to them. Yay! Now, back to work for me. And you all get your earphones and mp3 players ready to download my first podcast! ^.^
